How does the “Transform Your Jewelry” service work?
Step 1. We receive and appraise your jewelry
To begin the process, we need to physically receive the jewelry at our workshop. There, we can weigh it, verify the quality of the gold, and assess its condition.
If you're in Guayaquil, you can stop by our store with the part so we can assess it.
If you live in another city, you can safely send us your jewelry via Servientrega. Once we receive it, we'll appraise it and keep you informed throughout the process.
This step is essential for understanding the material we'll be working with and preparing an accurate quote.
Step 2. Let's design your new piece of jewelry together
We'll discuss your ideas, needs, and style to determine the design you want.
Our goal is to create a piece that preserves the emotional value of your original piece of jewelry while also reflecting your personality.
Step 3. We review the materials and prepare a quote
We check to see if there is enough gold available to produce the new design.
We also assess whether it will be necessary to add more material or incorporate new gemstones. Based on this information, we prepare a personalized quote.

Once the quote is approved, we begin crafting your new piece of jewelry using a completely handmade process.

If we have the gemstones in stock, the process takes between 15 and 20 business days.
If a gemstone needs to be sourced for a special order, the wait time to receive it may be up to 2 months Once it is available, production will take between 15 and 20 business days.
Transparency in the process: gold refining and loss
We want you to understand each step and feel completely confident when transforming gold jewelry.
During the artisanal process, there is a natural loss equivalent to approximately 10% of the gold, once the piece has been disassembled, the stones have been removed, and the metal has been melted down.
This loss occurs because, during jewelry making, a small amount of material is lost in processes such as:

- Polished
- Final finishing touches
These are small particles of gold that can no longer be recovered and are a normal part of the artisanal manufacturing process.
For example, if after removing the stones and melting down the piece we obtain 10 grams of gold, it is estimated that approximately 9 grams will be usable for further work. The remaining 10% corresponds to the loss inherent in the process.
In addition, when we disassemble your jewelry, we record a video of the process so you can see exactly what materials we’re working with.
Occasionally, we find small pieces of iron or other metals inside the jewelry, either from previous repairs or from its original manufacture.
These elements may increase the piece’s weight, but they are not gold. We will always inform you of any such findings during the disassembly and melting process.

However, during the process, an additional amount of gold is usually needed to ensure that the design is executed properly.
The additional amount will depend on the type of jewelry being made. For example, some designs, such as monograms or names, require more material.
Even if the finished piece weighs approximately 2 grams, the manufacturing process may require between 5 and 6 grams of gold.
If the gold you provide is not sufficient, we can add the missing amount from our workshop. In that case, your gold will be mixed with the gold we provide; we will always inform you of this in advance and include it in the quote.
